VISITING WRITER SERIES

Every year Hendrix-Murphy brings to campus a number of eminent writers, directors, literary scholars, and translators. These visitors do more than simply "lecture and leave"—in addition to giving public talks, they stay another day or two to visit classes and actually spend time with our students in small-group settings such as lunches, workshops, and craft discussions.

Past visitors include Ada Limón, Hanif Abdurraqib, Ilya Kaminsky, Sharon Olds, Lynn Nottage, Mohsin Hamid, Claudia Rankine, Tony Kushner, Carolyn Forché, Arthur Sze, Louise Glück, John Edgar Wideman, Lydia Davis, Jonathan Safran Foer, Art Spiegelman, Maxine Hong Kingston, Tim O’Brien, Allen Ginsberg, Chaim Potok, and Maya Angelou.

Stay tuned for announcements on next year's visitors.
