Tiffany Pickett joins the Hendrix-Murphy Foundation team in the role of communication & events manager.

"Tiffany has a wealth of energy, ideas, and proven experience in both areas of her job," said Hope Coulter, foundation director and associate professor of English.

"On the communications side, she has a knack for distilling information into salient and appealing words and images. She researches the fuller context of our news, whether it's about a visiting writer or a student achievement, and that additional depth makes each post more resonant. Meanwhile, she keeps us organized and on track so that our events go off without a hitch. She enjoys executing the small, detailed touches that make every occasion feel special."

Pickett, named one of “Arkansas Money & Politics” Future Icons in 2024, has nearly a decade of experience in higher education communications and marketing.

"I love the challenges that this new role brings,” said Pickett. “It’s been so impactful to see the amazing and innovative programming that the Hendrix-Murphy Foundation and Hendrix College are providing students. And what an honor to use my skills and experience to help tell their stories.”

She was most recently acting director of communications & marketing at Ouachita Baptist University, where she was on staff for six years.

While at OBU, Pickett ushered several key projects forward, including rollout of the university's rebrand, strategic growth of the university Instagram account, planning multiple historic, large-scale events, and taking a lead role in many university firsts such as launching comprehensive digital advertising and email marketing campaigns as well as elevating acceptance materials for admitted students from simple acceptance letters to boxes filled with branded items to build excitement among the students and their networks. These efforts contributed to OBU’s total enrollment growing 20% over those six years.

Pickett was born and raised in the foothills of the Ozarks in Sharp County, graduating from Williford High School. She attended Williams Baptist College, now University, in Walnut Ridge, where she received a B.S. in Business Administration. She later attended Mercer University’s McAfee School of Theology, where she earned an M.Div. in Christian Social Ethics.

"Tiffany has already earned the respect and friendship of so many co-workers, faculty, and students," said Coulter. "She's a bright light on the Hendrix-Murphy staff."
